Version 1 | March 5, 2024

  • Initial Release BETA

  • IF something is wrong, you can always use the Uninstaller, as v7 is already installed it should revert to previous version next time you load app. Note in Premiere both version will show up in the Effects listing if both are installed. For example on Windows the uninstaller is the exe in C:\Program Files\REVisionEffects in Twixtor 8 folder.

  • Unknown Issues: We have moved to use Vulkan for GPU compute (moltenVK on mac which is built over Metal) and are unclear about compatibility issues with old software. If you get a green frame, usually updating the driver fixes it. We initially had issues with Resolve and Autograph on Windows (plugins not showing up) and Scratch and Nuke on Mac (crashing on load).. library conflicts. Why we are calling it beta 😊 Will also run on pretty much any AMD, nVidia, Intel or Apple chips... albeit a bit slower on CPU.

  • Known issues: Your mileage might vary, but the new default is DNN Model 1. Pro will likely have a Model 2. DNN stands for Deep Neural Network(s). Still issues with motion blur compensation and global compensation, will be fixed. Updated manual to come.

  • We occasionally noticed using GPU on multiple instances, for example playing with AE and rendering at same time with AME that occasionally there can be a render glitch (either a green frame – GPU issue, or a black frame). If you encounter such issue please try to tell use what you were doing at same time. Perhaps a driver issue?

  • Observation: The new default mode is a bit slower than Twixtor 7 one... but likely worth it for peace of mind. Still working on optimizations. Twixtor 7 is likely working out of the box perfect for at least 95% of the video, and 95% of the frames of the rest if you deal with fast action content, particularly for 24P sources. The new default method is a bit slower, but likely raises the bar substantially. You can still revert to Best – which is the same as Twixtor 7 to compare if extra render time has value other than peace of mind.
