RE:Vision Effects, Inc. announces ReelSmartTM Motion Blur, version 1.8.

RE:Vision Effects announces ReelSmartTM Motion Blur Version 1.8, which applies more natural-looking motion blur to a video sequence by automatically tracking every pixel. RE:Vision’s tracking technology is at the heart of ReelSmart Motion Blur, so there is no handwork involved. Users can add as little or as much blurring as is needed. For 3D animation ReelSmart Motion Blur can be used as a post process, eliminating the need for unnecessarily long render times to calculate motion blur in a 3D system.

Version 1.8 has the following changes from previous versions:

* With ReelSmart Motion Blur 1.8, users can not only add motion blur, but they can now remove motion blur. Of course, there is only limited ability in removing motion blur when there is lots of motion blur in the original footage.
* ReelSmart Motion Blur 1.8 is 15% faster than version 1.7.
* ReelSmart Motion Blur provides better interactivity with host application by paying more attention to user’s actions.

ReelSmart Motion Blur 1.8 is an After Effects plugin, which is accessible from Adobe’s After Effects (3.1, versions 4.0 and 4.1), Apple’s Final Cut Pro 1.2.5, Pinnacle Systems’ Commotion, Eyeon’s Digital Fusion (via their After Effects’ adapter) and Discreet’s combustion*. Available for Mac and Windows and is priced at $89.95.

Previous customers of ReelSmart Motion Blur for After Effects may obtain an update to 1.8 for free. Demo versions of ReelSmart Motion Blur 1.8 are available on the RE:Vision Effects website, http://www.revisionfx.com.
